Discover Cappadocia through the hands of its artisans on a journey into traditional Turkish craftsmanship and local heritage.
The Cappadocia Craft & Heritage Tour brings together some of the region’s most distinctive workshops and cooperatives, introducing you to the techniques, materials, and traditions behind carpet weaving, pottery, Ebru marbling, natural stone craftsmanship, and leatherwork.
More than a sightseeing tour, this experience offers an opportunity to meet local craftspeople, watch traditional skills in action, and discover the stories behind objects that have been part of Anatolian culture for generations.
Step beyond Cappadocia’s famous landscapes and discover a different side of the region—one shaped by generations of artisans, traditional techniques, and cultural heritage.
Your journey begins with a visit to a traditional carpet workshop, where you will discover the craftsmanship behind handmade Turkish carpets and kilims. Learn about hand-knotting techniques, traditional motifs, materials, and the extraordinary amount of work involved in creating each piece.
Continue to a pottery workshop and explore one of Cappadocia’s oldest living traditions. Watch local artisans transform clay into beautiful handmade pieces using techniques passed down through generations.
The experience then introduces you to Ebru, the traditional Turkish art of marbling. Discover how pigments are carefully floated and shaped on water to create unique patterns before being transferred onto paper.
Another stop focuses on natural stone craftsmanship. Cappadocia and Anatolia are home to a fascinating variety of natural and semi-precious stones. See how these materials are selected, cut, polished, and transformed into decorative pieces and jewelry.
Your final craft experience explores Turkish leatherwork, where you can learn about the materials, techniques, and workmanship involved in producing high-quality leather goods.
Throughout the tour, you will have the opportunity to observe artisans at work, ask questions, and browse locally produced pieces. Purchasing is entirely optional—the focus of the experience is discovering the craftsmanship, culture, and people behind these traditions.
An optional local lunch can also be added to the program upon request.
